Steve Green - Associate

Steve obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University and was admitted to practice in WA in February 2004. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University in 1988 and a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Accounting in 2003. Steve joined the Havilah Legal team in July 2008. Prior to working as a lawyer, Steve held a number of permanent and consulting positions in the areas of tax, management and forensic accounting.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Provide advice in relation to:

  • debt collection;
  • company winding up applications;
  • bankruptcy proceedings;
  • corporate fraud and Police liason;
  • directors duties;
  • trustees duties;
  • obtaining evidence from non-parties;
  • sale and business disputes;
  • franchise disputes;
  • partnership disputes;
  • commercial lease disputes;
  • contractual disputes;
  • misleading or deceptive conduct; and
  • enforcement of judgment remedies.
  • Prepare necessary documentation including writs, pleadings, applications, affidavits, witness statements and legal submissions in relation to proceedings in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts.
  • Appear at various interlocutory proceedings including pre-trial conferences, case management conferences, status conferences, directions hearings and mediations as required in the Magistrates, Federal Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts.
  • Appear and advocate at various application hearings and special appointments in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts.
  • Appear as trial counsel in the Magistrates and District Court.
  • Prepare bills of costs and appear as counsel in Magistrates and Supreme Courts.

Estate & Succession Planning

  • Drafting wills, EPA’s, shareholders and business succession agreements.
  • General advice re wills, intestacy claims and asset protection.

Commercial & Property generally

  • drafting commercial documentation re:
  • terms of trade;
  • commercial leases;
  • trust deeds;
  • settlement deeds;
  • sale of land and sale of business contracts;
  • Landgate forms including mortgages, transfers and caveats;
  • loan agreements;
  • other various deeds (as required);
  • settlement statements; and
  • stamp duty requisitions and exemption applications.
  • co-ordinate and attend settlements.
  • provide general commercial, taxation and property advice as required.
