In the area of commercial leasing, business owners face challenges and pitfalls which they can avoid and Bruce refers to the recent Havilah Legal Newsletter Article for September.  The case of a man whose house was transferred to a new purchaser while he was on holidays and was unaware of the transaction was discussed with protection of assets by caveat, mortgage or reverse mortgage considered.  Contracts and what must be reduced to writing was discussed in the context of an employment agreement.  In the Family Court, the case of a 5-year-old girl exercising contact with her grandparents who took her out of the metropolitan area was discussed in the context of the child's welfare.  A caller who was unhappy with her lawyer wanted information about her option to complain and the role of the Legal Practitioners Complaints Committee was discussed and considered.
