Podcast Episode #8
Bruce Havilah and Ken Eastman discuss the proposal by police Commissioner Carl O'Callaghan of identifying hoon cars as a deterrent to frequent offenders driving irresponsibly. They also discuss the release of confidential medical information and the role of the medical board in terms of duty of care of medical practitioners. Defamation which may result from the release of confidential medical information is compared with information which can be released or must be released by law. Self Defence is discussed in context of the use of weapons and in particular the use of Capsicum spray in terms of a reasonable response to a threat and whether the police can charge you for using capsicum as a prohibited weapon. Disclosure in family law proceedings is also discussed.
