Hair today….gone tomorrow.

Until Ben Cousins was required to undergo rigorous urine testing and submit a sample of hair for testing, little was known of the hair test .

Whilst urine testing remains the most common measure of drug use( with blood testing deemed too invasive), hair testing is growing in popularity .

It provides a reliable measure of drug use for up to a month - all from a 1cm of hair . Urine testing only provides evidence of recent drug use and the results can be masked by drinking large volumes of water prior to the test.

With hair, unless the hair is removed, or a person places their head in a bath of bleach, there is little that can effect the result - even dying the hair won’t help! - that result anyway! .”
