Legal Costs - Fixed Fees

Recently the Chief Justice of Western Australia called on the profession to reduce its reliance on time billing for legal costs and for a greater willingness to explore alternatives, particularly in the area of transactional work.

Consequently one of the options which we at Havilah Legal are now looking into is that of fixed fee costs arrangements with clients.

While fixed fee legal costing may not be appropriate for all litigation matters it does appear to be suitable for a number of legal services and products.

Presently we are examining the suite of legal services which Havilah Legal currently offers, in order to identify and duly price those services and products which we hope can be ultimately offered to our clients for a fixed fee.

We expect to be in a position soon to be able to launch and publicise a number of legal services and products for which a fixed legal cost fee will be agreed at the outset.

In the meantime we would welcome enquiries from clients and potential clients about the provision by us of a fixed fee quotation for a specific legal service or product.
